Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] amine_eyes <.<

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble/fic of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.  Or perhaps I just want prompts to fill up my time, and will remove the requirement for the reciprocal posting <.<

PROMPTS STILL OPEN :D

Fandoms: Star Trek: 2009, Gundam Wing, Final Fantasy, Heralds of Valdemar and if I'm familiar with the Fandom you want, I'll do my best. Oh. And Star Trek: 2009 cast RPF.

I can't promise they'll be done quickly (as I do have a 2nd full time job, known as The Flavor of Laughter, and there's that thing called schoolwork that I'm supposed to be doing every once in a while) but I will do at least one per week!!

Ohh! We actually have all of DS9 downloaded and sequestered away. We watched the first episode, and then got busy again and didn't have time to come back. It is definitely on my list of Things to Watch. I was told it was excellent!

It is excellent and epic!!!

You will love it BB!

Thought of another reason why DS9 is epic. They have a lot of space battles, and they had a war going on for several seasons.

That clip just shows one of their space battles.

That is why a lot of people do not like DS9. They do not consider it Star Trek because it is all about staying home and fighting for all of the right reasons not exploring the unknown.

Ok, so I have been rewatching DS9 with my Siblings and I just saw an episode that was a lot better than what I remember and had such a different perspective and character development that I just know that you will love it.

In the Pale Moonlight is an episode told from Sisko making his personal log trying to make since and justify his recent decisions. Those decision could potentially save the Federation from complete annihilation and all that he has to do rid himself of his morals and self respect. It is a great character building episode that you just do not see this kind of stuff in other series outside of fanfic. It is another great reason to watch DS9 to see how the characters grow and affect the world around them.

Ohhhh, those are always the most interesting episodes! The character-building ones are my favorites! I need TEIM, bb!! TEIM!!! We're moving to another apartment this week, so tonight I'll be packing up everything I own, and tomorrow night I'll be moving box after box :\

And I just realized that I have the entire first season of TOS in HD on my harddrive. *WANTS TO WATCH*

Your moving again! O.O I know that it is always time consuming and nerve racking to move but so close together BB, Good Luck!!!

:D Good on you for getting TOS first season in HD. It is awesome like that, especially the remaster versions with all of the pretty colors. You are in for a treat!

Ahh, no no -- it's been 2 years since we moved, so not too bad :)

I'm not sure if it's the remastered ones or not, but I am excited :D Now I just need to get some time to sit down and WATCH!! :D

:) see I just moved last semester and I am looking into stuff for next semester already up in Detroit! It always is an experience.

You just have to get in the mindset to watch an episode. Like I have been watching A-Team or TNG every weekday night when I can at 800 because it is on in my local listings. It gives me something to look forward too. Then it is off to homework and fic before bed.

Then again you might want to change it up when you take a big test, go and reward yourself with the awesomeness of Star Trek. When you finish a difficult homework assignment or problem: Star Trek. When you had a shitty day at work: Star Trek. When you feel like procastinating: Star Trek.

O_O I am beginning to see a pattern here. Here, I just think it is how I have managed to stay relatively sane.

Hehe, very true. We actually don't have cable anymore (just internet) so I can't set myself by a TV schedule. BUT we do watch an episode of House every night before bed. We just bought season 5 on DVD (20 BUCKS :D) And. WOW. A MILLION times better than season 4. Hooked all over again!!

I'm hoping next semester I have some time to watch TOS, when I'm home by myself. The PROBLEM is I'm planning on taking 6 classes, so I think I'm going to have even less free time than I do right now :\

You do know of tvpc.com right? You can watch tv live through a stream! That is how I watch Merlin every week even through it is over in England. :D

Nice deal for House. :D I ended up watching the first season and then I got distracted by other shows. But what I did watch was good, and I have always wanted to go back to that and Boston Legal but there is so many good fic to read and Star Trek to watch, you know!

Good Luck with finding time with school! Especially with all of those classes. I know I end up working a hell of a lot more when I am in school compared to a 40 hour a week job. It is because you take it home with you and there is so much work that it just really eats up all of your time. You will always have homework to do, a test to study for, and a group project to do. It is a balencing act, where the key is that you know the expectations at the beginning of semester and be able to plan ahead so that you are not overwhelmed. :\

I have not heard of tvpc.com, but we do have Netflix, which is has awesome streaming of awesomeness! Right now we're not interested in any current things, so I will keep that in the back pocket for "someday" ;)

Ohhh, I love House!! I have a HUGE thing for the "Grouchy on the outside with a soft gooey center" guys (Bones, much? XD), and the grouchier and more hidden the gooiness is, the better. Gregory House has a VERY hidden center, but it's there and I crave those sneaky moments when we get to see it XD I would recommend the series to anybody, it is AWESOME!!!

I hate homework. With a passion. It's why i didn't get straight As in high school -- not that I couldn't, that I didn't want to XD I will really have to buckle down and concentrate so I don't repeat the same mistakes with college.

See, the grouchy marshmellow thing is what made me love McKay in Stargate Atlantis. ^_^

ummmm...homework is pretty much all of college. You go to lectures, but you really learn the material (especially in math and physics coures) through the homework. It takes a lot of motivation in order to do it all on time.

btw, i am one of those kids that you would have hated in school...the one that always did their homework and got straight As...I graduated highschool third in my class out of 300 students with a 4.29 gpa (I did not take Honors English). I also have a 3.954 gpa in college (I had an A- in chemistry). Through, I am also the one that is always around and helping my fellow students so I never really got any real crap for it.

GROUCHY MARSHMELLOW IS THE BEST!!!

I watched my hubby dig through his homework all the time, so I know a little of what to expect. I know it'll be easier for me when it's JUST school, and I don't have to deal with work at the same time (especially right now, when work is not the ideal environment it once was, but that's another story entirely). I also have Goals and Plans and Ideas, which I didn't have in high school so I'm much better off in that motivation department as well XD

*squeezes you!* I never hated those kids, bb -- I admired them for their dedication, thought that they were crazy sometimes, but never hated them :) WOW! 3.954!! Holy cow, woman, you must never have any time to yourself!! I am proud of you, that's definitely a huge accomplishment! And helping people at the same time, too!

If you see your hubby do it then you will start to get an idea of just how much work it takes. Just wait until it is all swirling around in your head. You will be amazed at your own capabilities.

*blushes* I do have some time... and most if it is spent here reading all of the fanfics that I can without my school suffering. I think that is how I maintained my sanity and perspective.

Through I am one of those weird people that does not need that much sleep. I will be still perky after 3 hours of sleep and it takes a couple of days for it all to catch up with me. I worked 3rd shift for two years straight and went to school right afterwards. So I was up at midnight and off to work at 1 and then done at 6 and then class at 8. It taught me a lot about functioning off of little sleep and making the most of my time.

Right now, I am happy if I get 5 hours of sleep on the weekdays and the weekends are where I will sleep 8-10 hours straight and catch up with all of my missed hours. Thought I still pull the occassional all night. (OMG HP7 this Thursday night!!! I am so excited!)

Friday, November 26th, 2010 06:28 pm (UTC)
Oh, wow, you can function on 5 hours of sleep? I can, too, but only because I'm a recovering insomniac. I had to learn, cause I had no choice. But if I do that all week, I'm positively dead by Friday and spend most of my weekend sleeping.

AND OMG HARRY POTTER. I saw it Wednesday night, and it was AWESOME!!! A little slow in the middle, but that wasn't the movie's fault. I cried when Dobbie died :'(
Saturday, December 4th, 2010 10:39 pm (UTC)
Actually, this week I functioned on 3 hours of sleep every night. I got home from school after 12 on like two days and stayed after every day. This week was insane!

I do not know why I do not sleep much. There is too much to do to sleep and as my mom says "You'll sleep when you are dead". But my usual is like 5 hours every night, and I have no internal clock and can literally sleep like 12 hours straight on the weekend.

The thing is that I am not an insomniac, I can sleep whenever and whereever I want. It is just wonderful blackness each time. Oh well, it is what you get use to.

Harry Potter was awesome! I did not even like that book, and yet I enjoyed that movie a lot more than I thought that I would. Even if it was slow in the middle, it was the book's stupid plot fault. Herminony and Dobby totally made the movie!
